Silicone Stopper Ring

Silicone Stopper Ring

A silicone stopper ring needs to be identified by its function before its dimensions are chosen. A ring used as a stop or retainer controls the position of another component. An O-ring used for sealing works within a defined joint or groove. These functions require different geometry and loading information.

For an O-ring, specify the inside diameter, cross-section, groove and assembled compression. For a retaining ring, define the mating feature and the force needed for retention and removal. Hardness should be specified in Shore A with a value and tolerance appropriate to that design, rather than combining ranges from unrelated ring types.

Select the silicone formulation for the actual temperature and contact medium. Fuel, vacuum and food-contact duties each need their own assessment; the silicone name does not establish suitability for all of them. Agree dimensions, appearance, quantity and production timing for the chosen ring instead of applying one temperature or delivery promise to the whole range.

O-Ring Size Catalog

Compare inner diameter, outer diameter and cross-section diameter. Check the groove and material requirements for the selected O-ring.

O-Ring

Dimensions are in mm. Wire Diameter is the O-ring cross-section diameter; compare it with the inner and outer diameters in the selected row.
