Rubber Post Caps

Rubber Post Caps

Decks and fences are what transform your yard from a regular yard to a backyard. Every household should have a fence and you should do all that’s in your power to protect the fence, the same way it protects you and your property. Now, decks aren’t a necessity, but they’re always a welcome addition to any backyard. They are a place where your family gathers to eat, relax, play games and so on. What both of these have in common are the posts. Keeping the posts in good condition for an extended period of time is much easier said than done. They are exposed to all kinds of different weather conditions, from heavy rains and freezing colds to harsh winds and scorching hot temperatures. After all of that, they are poised to rot, split or break.

Fortunately, all of that can be prevented or in the worst-case scenario postponed for a few years by using rubber post caps. Now, you’ve probably seen rubber post caps, but like many others, you’ve thought that they are there solely for cosmetic purposes, but that is not the truth. The rubber post caps are used mainly to protect them and only then for cosmetic purposes. Not only will rubber post caps protect the posts from harsh weather conditions, that would result in drying and cracking, but they will also protect it from developing mould or mildew, which could lead to rotting.

Rubber post caps can be made in various shapes, sizes and even colours. Since posts can be both round and sharp-edged, the rubber post caps can be that way as well. Additionally, they can be made from various types of rubber and each of them can be customized to best match your fence or a deck. Black ones are the most popular, but since rubber is easily stained, you can even colour them yourselves.
