Rubber gasket seal

When you notice the object in a shape of a ring that is inserted between two places, that is basically the rubber gasket seal. Its primary attribute is to completely isolate the space between two connections to avoid anything coming out, or coming in from the outside. This is really important when we talk about plumbing, or anything connected with liquids because they are easier to leak and cause damage to the surrounding objects. Also, some systems need airtight conditions, so you will have to use these rubber gasket seals to prevent air from coming inside, or going out of the system. 

The rubber gasket seals, as their descriptive name says, are made from rubber because of the many qualities that it has. It is soft, so it can be pressured between the connections to offer the isolation property. They can be made from different rubbers synthetically made which improves some of the qualities that the natural rubber has. For example, some of them are softer, so they can be squeezed well between the connections making it tighter. Another quality that can be improved is the temperature resistance, making them withstand high temperatures without harm. 

When buying these gaskets, you will have to be careful so you pick the correct one to fit perfectly. If you get a different sized one by mistake, there will be no seal and you will have water or air leaking compromising the system that you are making. That is why it is important to measure the diameter of the hole so you can get a perfect one. Also, you should get a shape that matches your needs, if your holes are circles, get a circled rubber gasket seal, if it is squared get it in that shape. If you happen to need shapes that are not so common or thicker rubber, make sure you get that so you do your job properly.
