EPDM rubber washer

EPDM rubber washer

Ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber or EPDM rubber for short is probably the most resistant material from which rubber washers can be made. EPDM rubber can be exposed to a wide variety of conditions without damage. EPDM rubber washer is resistant to various weather conditions, water, chemicals, alcohol, large temperature changes, heat, UV lights and much more. Conditions over 150 degrees Celsius will not damage the EPDM rubber washer and it can also be used under – 50 degrees Celsius.

This is why EPDM rubber washer is one of the most used items in every industry and household. While this may seem like a very small thing to you that may not play a significant role, we can tell you that household plumbing, various industrial machines, air conditioning systems, vehicles and much more could not work without EPDM rubber washers. Rubber washer is actually a type of rubber gasket that is intended to be placed between two objects at the place where they meet. And the role can be different, like insulation, sealing, reducing vibration or friction and much more.

The EPDM rubber washer looks like a ring because it has a hole in the middle to make room for fasteners or for fluids that must flow smoothly. EPDM rubber washer and generally rubber washer is much more flexible, resistant and more versatile than metal washer.

It is possible to make EPDM rubber washer in any size. Although this type of rubber washers is available in a very large number of sizes, it often happens that you need a specific diameter or thickness, but this is not a problem because you can order custom made. Size is not the only thing that can be customized, because you can also choose features like hardness because the hardness of EPDM varies from 30-90 Shore A.
