Flexible solid rubber tubing
Flexible solid rubber tubing is an ambiguous product description. A hollow tube carries a liquid or gas, while a solid cord or rod has no flow passage. Establish the required cross-section before choosing dimensions, and show the bore explicitly when the part must transfer a medium.
For a hollow flexible tube, specify the bore, outside diameter, wall and route between connections. Match the compound and construction to the medium, temperature, pressure and required bend radius. A general level of flexibility does not make a tube suitable for a defined percentage of household or industrial uses.
For a solid profile, define its sealing, spacing or cushioning function and the way it will be compressed or retained. If either product will contact food, assess its finished formulation for that use. Keep material, color and dimensional requirements together so that a custom part is clearly distinguished from a visually similar standard item.
