Food grade tubing silicone
Food grade silicone tubing is intended for a defined food-contact use when the finished formulation meets the applicable requirements. This is a property of the selected product and its use conditions, not an automatic result of calling a material silicone. Identify the food, contact temperature and duration at the start of selection.
A food-contact silicone formulation can contain permitted fillers and processing ingredients. Food grade does not mean that every chemical ingredient or additive is absent. The finished tube also needs to suit the cleaning cycle, and food-contact suitability alone does not establish sterility or compatibility with every laboratory chemical.
Choose the bore for the required flow and connections, and assess the wall for pressure, bending and any pumping action. Set the cut length around the actual route without unnecessary loops or tight bends. State dimensional tolerances and the selected formulation when defining a repeatable product for the line.
