High-temp silicone tubing

High-temp silicone tubing

Of all the high-temp tubing, the most popular is the high-temp silicone tubing because silicone is a material that can withstand the broadest temperature range of any elastomer, and this is crucial in this case. A wide variety of industries have needs for tubing that can withstand high temperatures. This includes the food industry and the space industry alike and that is why high-temp silicone tubing is so important. When we say that it can withstand high temperatures, we really mean it, because silicone can withstand temperatures three times higher than the boiling point, but that’s not all. It is very durable even when exposed to low temperatures, such as – 60 degrees Celsius, and even lower.

It should be noted that silicone is not only durable when exposed to different temperatures, but also in other situations. All other characteristics such as strain tensile, elongation at the break, rebound and abrasion resilience are at a very high level. As a tear-resistant, it is almost impossible to damage high-temp silicone tubing to the point of becoming dysfunctional. It is also a water, weather and ozone resistant, so there is almost no environment where you cannot use it. This is a clear indication of why virtually all industries use it.

We have already mentioned the food industry, where silicone is almost the only type of rubber that will not impair the quality or safety of food. Due to its natural characteristics, the FDA has approved silicone for food contact. That is why it is often used by all food industries, but also by wineries, breweries and the like. It is also used for medical purposes because it is safe to contact with the skin and is also eco-friendly. Due to the large pollution, which is a growing problem in all parts of the planet, silicone will become even more popular because it does not contribute to pollution and provides what we need from rubber-like materials.
