The plugs, which are used to stop water flow by inserting at the pipe ends, known as rubber end caps. This stoppage is for allowing the crews to repair any damage in the pipeline.
As the name represents, these are made up of rubber material.
These are available in different shapes like conical, cone-shaped, round, etc. Rubber cap of every shape is for the particular type of pipe ranging from small to large. They use a mechanical system for accurate placement. They can bear even the high temperature.
How does it work?
When a crew or team repairs a pipeline, especially of wastewater or sewage water, they disconnect the flow of water by breaking an active pipe.
Then, they insert the rubber end caps quickly from where the pipe is broken. Thus, the water flow stops at the upstream end of the pipeline. After the insertion of the plug, the disruption will be almost none.
When the repairing gets completed, the plug is removed, and the line is reconnected.
