They have a hole in the middle, where a screw passes through the hole in the washer – and the washer itself is placed between the head of the screw or nut. A rubber gasket washer is a well-known element used in threaded joints. It is usually a circular rubber tile with an opening in the middle, but it can also look different. Depending on the construction and purpose – the rubber gasket washer can have different functions. They primarily relate to securing threaded connections from unscrewing, but can also be used for insulation and sealing.

A rubber gasket washer is used to secure threaded joints against unscrewing. It is circular in its shape – and usually made of black rubber. Most of them have an opening in the middle and a notch. At the notch, the washer is bent so that the ends are spaced. When tightening – the ends of the washer are driven into the head of the screw or nut and the element to be threaded. This feature will prevent the bolts and nuts to become shaky.
