Stopper Sizes

Stopper Sizes

Pieces of rubber that are small in size and used for various purposes. Such as sealing the cracks or openings of vessels, tubes, flasks, and other containers, are known as rubber stoppers. The stoppers can be made of numerous materials like cork or hardened leather. Still, the best and most popular stoppers are rubber stoppers.
There are many different types of stoppers and stopper sizes available out there in the market. The high availability and abundance of options have made it complicated for people to choose a rubber stopper that fits their purpose.
The factors that you should keep in mind while selecting a rubber stopper with desired stopper sizes are:
Temperature resistance
The first thing you should consider when choosing a rubber stopper is whether it can handle temperature fluctuations. The stoppers of any stopper sizes must be resilient enough to endure high temperatures. You should also only choose only high-quality plugs.
Bottom diameter
The second thing to watch when choosing a rubber stopper is to check its bottom surface diameter. Going for a rubber stopper with the largest diameter is recommended. At least, it should be larger than the hole size.
Stopper shapes
Because rubber stoppers come in a range of shapes and stopper sizes, it is essential to select the one which fits the intended openings appropriately.
Stopper sizes
Different rubber stoppers have different sizes. If the opening you’re looking to disguise is small, for example, a test tube or a wood crack, opt for a small size rubber stopper. Similarly, choose the stopper size that is at least bigger than the opening by at least 1.5 times in size.
Easily pluggable stopper
If the rubber stopper is easily pluggable, it will last longer. Otherwise, it will eventually loosen up and will be rendered ineffective.
