Black rubber tubing

Black rubber tubing is manufactured using either a natural or man-made elastomer that has been through a finishing process that turns it black and makes it ultra-flexible, resistant to tearing, and durable. Rubber tubing is used to convey liquids and gases. Black rubber tubing refers to a color, not as a type of tubing; this is because there is no single characteristic that black rubber tubing offers that others do not. As with all other tubing types, black rubber tubing in both the inside and outside diameters extends to the required fitting, connection or attachment. In order to produce black rubber tubing, there is the possibility to dye both types of rubber, natural rubber produced from latex, a sap present in certain plants and trees, as well as synthetic rubber manufactured from man-made elements. 

In fact, rubber, neoprene, silicone, latex, and other materials create tubing variations that have various features. Rubber comes in many diverse usages and is widely applied in many areas of everyday life. Black rubber tubing is commonly found in industrial or manufacturing uses in order to help keep the presence of the tubing to a minimum or to hide it. However, black rubber tubing is more heat absorbent when compared to any other colored tubing, plus it is able to ensure insulation or heat retention. Depending on the desired application there are many chemicals that can be included in order to produce features like increased flexibility or electrical conductivity. The dyes that turn the rubber black are easily absorbed by some materials, while there are other tubes that remain uncolored, leading it to a light brown color. As for other tubes, the process involves molding or extrusion, a process that entails forcing raw rubber material through an extrusion die. The other production technique is mandrel curing, in which long thin cylinders, referred to as mandrels or arbors are immersed in rubber.
