FIT & APPLICATION GUIDE
Orient the oval along the available mounting space
An oval footprint has distinct long and short axes. It can suit an elongated flat area, provided the rounded ends and both sides remain fully supported.
01 / BEFORE YOU CHOOSE
What to measure for this profile
- Minor axis A
- Check the narrow dimension against the width of the mounting land.
- Major axis B
- Measure the usable length, allowing clearance at both rounded ends. Do not compare only with a circular diameter.
- Height H and orientation
- Mark the long-axis direction in the layout and verify the required gap to the supporting surface.
02 / INSTALLATION
Set the long-axis direction before peeling
Lay out the oval
Position the lined pad along the intended flat area. Check that neither rounded end crosses a seam or radius.
Prepare the substrate
Confirm the backing grade is suitable for the finish and use its specified cleaning and drying process.
Bond without stretching
Peel the liner, keep the oval relaxed and place it along the marked axis. Apply the specified pressure over the entire footprint.
Check both ends in use
Observe edge lift at the rounded ends after the required bond time and a trial of the expected sliding or handling forces.
03 / USE & CHECK
Where to use this profile
Elongated mounting lands
Compare the long-axis footprint with narrow equipment bases or uninterrupted housing ribs.
Directional pad layouts
Use a placement drawing to keep pairs of oval feet consistently oriented.
