FIT & APPLICATION GUIDE
Separate the bonding footprint from the contact face
The trapezoidal profile has different widths at its two ends. Identify the liner-covered bonding face on the supplied part before deciding how much mounting space is required.
01 / BEFORE YOU CHOOSE
What to measure for this profile
- Widths A and B
- Read both ends of the profile on the drawing. Confirm which end carries the backing; the larger outline is not automatically the adhesive area.
- Height H and side clearance
- Check the tapered wall against housing edges and surrounding fittings.
- Loaded contact area
- Evaluate the face that meets the support after fitting. Its pressure and deformation depend on the actual load and compound.
02 / INSTALLATION
Identify the backed face before positioning
Locate the release liner
Confirm the bonding face from the sample or approved drawing. Do not select the mounting side merely by which face is wider.
Check the whole outline
Dry-fit the pad and check both the adhesive footprint and the outward tapered profile for clearance.
Prepare and bond
Clean and dry the substrate as specified for the backing. Remove the liner and apply the required pressure without sliding the pad.
Trial after bond development
Allow the specified bonding time, then inspect edge lift and stability at the smaller contact region.
03 / USE & CHECK
Where to use this profile
Tapered enclosure feet
Compare the outer profile with nearby seams, vents and base flanges.
Different mounting and contact widths
Share a section showing both faces when the support footprint differs from the available bonding area.
