A large rubber gasket is quite a unique product. It is not as commonly used as some other types of gaskets, so most of the large rubber gaskets we produce are often on-demand from our recurring clients who happen to have the need for this product. A large rubber gasket is most commonly manufactured from silicone rubber for various reasons. 

The number one reason a large rubber gasket is most commonly made from silicone is that they are quite difficult to assemble, mostly due to its small cross-section or limited material sheet sizes. However, silicone rubber can come in 20-meter large sheets, making it ideal for a large rubber gasket.

As you perhaps already know, silicone rubber is known for its outstanding chemical inertia and phenomenal temperature resilience. For that reason, the large rubber gasket can most often be found in some extreme environments, such as the ones with temperatures as low as negative 55 degrees Celsius or as high as 300 degrees Celsius. Most commonly, a silicone rubber gasket can be found in the food industry, but it can also be found in the pharmaceutical industry. A large rubber gasket made from silicone is, however, most commonly used in the marine industry or as a part of large electrical enclosures.

This is all due to the fact that silicone is an extremely soft and remarkably adaptable material. Furthermore, silicone has incredible elastomeric properties, is resilient to the effects of ozone, oxygen, UV light, extreme weather conditions, as well as water damage and premature ageing.
