Rubber Mounts And Isolators

When it comes to machinery that produces a lot of vibrations, we have to have some kind of instalment in place to protect it from destroying itself or the surroundings. Vibrations are not only loud and distracting, but they could also cause serious damage if the machine vibrates too much. It could easily destroy your flooring or, in case something breaks off – even the rest of your surroundings.

To prevent these machines, for instance, generators, from bouncing around all over the place, we have to mount them onto a solid surface like concrete, rock or metal. However, because of the aforementioned vibrations, we can’t mount them directly onto the solid surface. We need rubber mounts and isolators to help us out. Rubber mounts or rubber mounting pads are placed underneath the vibrating device and the surface to act as a buffer layer for the vibrations. Most rubber mounts will absorb as much as 95% of the vibrations, making it a secure working environment.

However, vibrations on the outside are not the only concern. With so much vibrating, the components on the inside of the machine have to be protected as well, and that is where rubber isolators come into play. They can be placed near the motor or other integral components to prevent them from being compromised or otherwise damaged. But also, rubber isolators can be used on the outside of the machine. They are often placed around or onto the controllers to absorb vibrations.
